Proofreading

So you’ve written something you like, you’ve gotten through the big edits, and you are ready to send your work out into the world. Before you do, it’s important to have someone give your manuscript one more pass over and check for all the little details; it’s time for proofreading.

Want more information before you get a quote? Here are the details on some of the ways I can help you with a proofread:

  • Spelling and punctuation; have any errors slipped through the cracks or been added during other edits? Do proper nouns match the style sheet or other documentation for proper spelling?
  • Formatting; once everything has been laid out, is everything in the right place? Any lines that are left on their own or headers that don’t have the right style? Are page numbers consistent? Any other design specs that don’t seem to match?
  • Navigation; does your index match where the content appears? Are links attached to the proper pages?
  • Missing content; has anything been accidentally deleted during a previous edit?
